Dont ignore your videos, optimize them to rank in SERP

Blended search is getting popular day by day and you can see videos, news, maps and other related content are now displayed along the standard search results.

Thus if you are not optimizing your videos, start it now -

  • Insert keywords into your video filenames.
  • Host your videos on YouTube, and embed these YouTube videos into your website pages. The context provided by the text on those pages (which is hopefully already optimized for search as well) will help the search engines figure out what your videos are about.
  • Optimize your YouTube videos by inserting important key-phrases into the videos' titles, descriptions, and tags.
  • Creating a video library on your site is a good idea. Write keyword-rich annotations for each video in the library.

Please share your experiences with me. If you have optimized your videos, which tactics did you use and which have worked best for you?
